On March 6th, Union Syndicale forwarded to Members of the European Parliament its position on the proposed review of the Staff regulations, together with a number of proposals for amendments. Further to this position and theses proposals, we hereby want to forward to MEPs our position on the numerous amendments tabled in the JURI, BUDG, CONT and FEMM Committees. We have followed the same structure as in our previous submission.

Demonstration in front of the Council starting at 12.00

The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), which has about a hundred member trade union organisations in thirty‑six European countries and sixty million individual members, is organising a European Day of Action on 29 February 2012 on the eve of the European Council meeting on 1 and 2 March.  http:/etuc.org/a/9638.

The European Trade Unions intend to send a clear message to European decision‑makers: too much is too much!

There are alternatives to austerity.  Employment and social justice must be placed at the centre of the priorities.
